ÅAC Microtec wins 8.6 MSEK order with York
ÅAC has secured a license agreement with York Space Systems regarding power subsystems to the S-CLASS satellite platform. Total order value over 5 years is approximately 8.6 MSEK and includes engineering, license fee and royalties for York to manufacture the power system.
This order for power subsystems means that ÅAC extends the range of products that will be delivered to York. ÅAC is supplying the Sirius avionics, advanced command and data handling systems, and now also the power system to York’s S- CLASS platform. The S-CLASS reduces the cost of manufacture by an order of magnitude while delivering one of the most capable standardized platform in the industry. Designed for mass manufacture and intended for constellations, the S-CLASS supports a wide range of missions including earth observation, weather, electronic characterization, and communications; and is capable of operation in any orbit inclination and orientation without redesign.
– We are excited to support York Space Systems in getting the S-CLASS platform ready for deployment. We are working intensively to make sure that the power system design for the S-CLASS platform is efficient and reliable while at the same time cost efficient and capable of supporting a wide range of missions, says Alfonso Barreiro, CEO ÅAC Microtec
– The S-CLASS platform is now moving to the next phase towards our Flight manifested launch November 15th, 2018. We are delighted to expand our great relationship with ÅAC Microtec to now include two critical systems for our platform, power- and data handling systems, says Dirk Wallinger, CEO York Space Systems.
