Exonaut powers UN Search and Rescue Exercise in Switzerland

From May 8-10, 4C Strategies’ Exonaut™ software powered ACHILLES 17, a 48-hour earthquake simulation exercise near Geneva, organized by the Swiss Armed Forces and Swiss Humanitarian Aid. Five Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) organizations from Germany, France, the UK and Switzerland took part within the framework of the UN international disaster management mechanism (INSARAG).

Exonaut Training and Exercise Manager (TEM) was used to design the exercise, define objectives, and provide a storyboard for each training and certification activity. Classifiers were equipped with tablets and the mobile Observer app to assess participants against the INSARAG checklist and provide individualized feedback during each stage of the exercise. Exonaut’s automated reporting function provided each team with detailed, digital training data at the end of the exercise.

Exonaut provides emergency services with an integrated, mobile-enabled solution to coordinate multiple actors and deliver verifiable training results. Previous such exercises include Exercise Unified Response, London’s largest multi-agency disaster training exercise.
