GKN Aerospace Sweden with HQ in Trollhättan has a long history as a design partner for aero-engines to all major engine OEM’s. The company is a centre of excellence for the development of advanced technologies and for smart manufacturing of a wide range of aero-engine products and systems. This includes ensuring safety, availability, reliability and cost-effectiveness for Sweden’s and several other nation’s fighter fleets. GKN Aerospace holds the type certificate for the RM12 engine in the JAS 39 Gripen C/D aircraft and are currently building up a similar product support capability for the RM16 engine in JAS 39 Gripen E fighter.

GKN Aerospace is also active on civil aero engines, contributing with technology- and product development and production of sub-systems and components to mid-size and large turbofan engines. Today, GKN Aerospace is represented in more than 90% of the operating civil fleet of airplanes above 90 pax.
