Astor Industry

The companies in the business area Astor Industry act as subcontractors to the defense industry and several other industrial segments such as the automotive, engineering and maritime industries, etc. The offering currently consists of components and related services to mainly larger industrial customers with an emphasis on the Nordic region but also on a global market. The companies, with a leading position in one or more product verticals and market niches, are divided into Marstrom Composite, Composite Design Sweden, JPC Composite and Mikroponent.

Astor Tech

The companies within the business area Astor Tech delivers finished products and services that are critical for a modern defense landscape directly to end customers, such as authorities and defense industries. The business area currently consists of Airsafe Sweden, Oscilion and Scandiflash.

Airsafe, founded in 1977, specializes in technical sewing and aviation safety equipment. The company has developed grenade parachutes, systems for air dropping of material and participated in the testing of the JAS 39 Gripen. As the Nordic leader in aviation safety equipment, Airsafe calculates, designs, manufactures and maintains advanced parachute systems for military and civilian purposes, both in Sweden and internationally.

Oscilion develops Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) systems to detect and manipulate radar signals from various sources, including ships, aircraft and satellites. The company has created the Astor radar jamming system, now in version IV, which is used for both training jamming and tactical operations. With extensive experience in EW, they offer solutions for Counter-UAS, GPS jamming and hardening of communication networks, as well as testing of wireless systems.

Scandiflash develops and supplies flash X-ray systems for measuring fast-moving objects. Since 1968, the Company has focused on studying dynamic events that cannot be captured with ordinary cameras, for example when analyzing high-velocity projectiles. With hundreds of systems delivered in over 30 countries, Scandiflash has become a leading global supplier. The head office for development and production is located in Uppsala.
